Stay Away (2022)

Digital photographic prints (x8), metal pins, 14.8 x 21 cm

Stay Away presents the frustration of seeing images as memories. The background is an image taken in Scotland. By manually scraping the surface, a new blank is cleared on the image. I selected other photos that were emotionally close to me in Taiwan and reprinted them on the same spot.

The reconstructed picture presents the bias of industrial technology and the cruelty of image: when the memory is fixed by photography, the world outside the frame can no longer be recalled.
